Set of Four Napoleonic Era European Military Regimental Costume Prints (1809) - Spanish and Portuguese
$0.00
Drawn by the Rev. William Bradford and engraved by L. Clark and published in London by J. Booth, Portland Place, in 1809. These hand colored engravings document the elaborate uniforms and hint at the character of the nationalities (Spanish and Portuguese) and certainly of the soldiers depicted: swaggering and posing dramatically. Images are titled: “Spanish Light Horse,” “Spanish Military Costume,” “Lisbon Police Guard” and “Portuguese Legion Da Lorgna.” Freshly double matted in cream and orange, in attractive vintage gold leafed frames. Frames show some wear: dings, denting and rubbing, prints have light toning, a few very small areas of foxing. One with a small tear at the lower left corner.
