$0.00
A group of six fine original copperplate engravings dating ca. 1765, with good hand coloring, on laid paper, with plate marks visible. The engraver Robert Bénard (1734-1777) was responsible for these images which formed part of Diderot’s masterpiece of the Enlightenment, the Encyclopédie. They illustrate the moves of “escrime”or fencing. Handsomely framed in French blue with gilt details, the frames and six engraved plates are in very good antique condition, with minimal signs of age.
