Pair of Napoleonic Era European Military Regimental Costume Prints (1809)- Portuguese

$0.00

Drawn by the Rev. William Bradford and engraved by L. Clark and published in London by J. Booth, Portland Place, in 1809. These hand colored engravings document the uniforms of the Portuguese forces of the early 19th century, their details, colors and they include battle vignettes in the background. The soldiers pose dramatically in images titled: “Portuguese Regiment of Alcantara” and “Portuguese Military Costume, (Officer of Engineers) and (Officer of Infantry).” Freshly double matted in cream and orange, in attractive vintage gold leafed frames. Frames show some wear: dings, denting and rubbing, prints have light toning, a few very small areas of foxing.
