Set of Four Napoleonic Era European Military Regimental Costume Prints (1809)- Spanish and French
$0.00
Drawn by the Rev. William Bradford and engraved by L. Clark and published in London by J. Booth, Portland Place, in 1809. These hand colored engravings document the elaborate uniforms and hint at the character of the nationalities (Spanish and French) and certainly of the soldiers depicted: swaggering, smoking, posing dramatically. Images are titled: “A Private of French Infantry,” “ A French Dragoon,” “Spanish Infantry” and “Spanish Grenadiers.” Freshly double matted in cream and orange, in attractive vintage gold leafed frames. Frames show some wear: dings, denting and rubbing, prints have light toning, a few very small areas of foxing.
