A heavy cast brass sconce, probably Northern European, fitted with two candle arms that have been newly electrified. Large and subtly ornate, with garlands, fruit and putti, this is a piece that can hold its own in a space and does not require a hardwired connection. Ca. 1900. Handsome silk wrapped cord is 8” long with a switch and conveniently designed to plug in, although it could be hardwired if desired. Polished and probably lacquered. Fitted with a substantial hanging bar on the back.
