A ca. 1710 lowboy table of small size and superbly elegant design. The moulded top has four re-entrant corners and is composed of book matched and tightly burled walnut of extraordinary quality, with a triple banded and canted border: exquisitely precise light wood string inlay that curves and loops over itself in the corners. The three herringbone banded drawers retain their original hardware. Legs are cabriole all the way around, each encircled by a distinctive carved ring and ending in pad feet. Good antique condition with a French polished surface, expected signs of age and varying degrees of old worming mainly to the legs, also somewhat evident in the case and drawers.
