Published in London in 1802, these two lovely hand colored engravings “The Splendid Crow” and “The Rufous Crow of Bengal” come from the Encyclopaedia Londinensis, which includes all manner of subjects in addition to natural history. John Wilkes (1750-1810) published his Encyclopedia in 24 volumes that came out starting in 1801 and continued after his death, until 1824. The artists behind the production were draughtsman J. L. Reinold and engraver John Pass. Nicely matted, plate marks visible on the tight laid paper. Good antique condition with some toning, light wear to the gilt frames.
