A smart pair of beautifully cast brass French Louis XVI candlesticks adapted into lamps and fitted with fantastic artisanal paper shades of handmade marbleized paper with tan fabric trim. The casting of the brass is very crisp, and filled with Neoclassical details: waterleaf, acanthus, pearl beading, fluting, husk garlands. Very good condition, light patina to brass, artisanal irregularities, as made. Ca. late 18th century with modern wiring and new shades. Wiring is external, of attractive gold “silk” wrapped cords with inline switches.
