A stunning Satsuma composition in turquoise and green with gilt highlights and details, the large peacock is perched among flowering tree peonies and rockery, while a peahen peeks around from the rear of the vase. The ground color is an unusually deep celadon blue. All in all a very appealing ensemble, finished with a black turned wooden base, and pleated natural linen shade and a coordinating celadon jade and brass finial. Ca. Mid 20th century with new shade. Good condition.
