In truly exceptional condition, this large centerpiece vase retains bright and extensive gilding with only tiny spots showing any wear, on a couple of high points of the sculptural handles. The decorative details of those handles include soldiers’ helmet clad heads as well as anthemion and foliate forms. The body and the square plinth are embellished with painted countryside scenes of villas and landscapes, idyllic vistas and blue sky, all in very fine condition. Ca.third quarter of the 19th century.
