From the northeastern French region near Strasbourg, these plates featuring pink roses and sprays of smaller flowers are typical of the faience produced there for domestic use. This group includes two plates dating probably to the first half of the 19th century with wear to the glazes and shallow chipping to the edges, but still in quite attractive antique condition. Also included are a pair of plates, dating circa mid- late 19th century with minimal wear, some wear to the rims, and like all faience of this type, many artisanal irregularities, as made.
Diameters vary: the pair measure 9 ⅛ X 1 the others measure 10” X 1
