$1,100.00
A finely matted and framed pair of original equestrian engravings on a very tight laid paper. The images come from a publication called ‘Luz da Liberal e Nobre Arte da Cavallaria’, by Manoel Carlos de Andrade (1755-1817), with illustrations drawn and engraved by Joachim Carneiro da Silva. Matting is a warm caramel color with salmon undertones, and finished with hand painted filage of gold, light blue and wine red. Ca. 1740-60 in later frames. Good antique condition with plate marks clearly visible on one, slightly occluded by matting on the other. Only very light wear to the frames. H: 20 W: 16 D: 1 ½
