A stylish Restauration period mirror, ca. 1830-1840, retaining a good surface with original gilding and wood paneled back. The six banded reeding on the face is an extension of an architectural detail that was incorporated throughout the full array of international decorative arts of the early 19th century. Good antique condition. Gilding remains bright, rubbed in places with red clay bole showing, light surface distress. Original mercury glass mirror plate, with light starry speckling in places, some larger spots of spots of desilvering (please see detail photos).
