An eye-catching confection of Rococo decorative elements, combined with sober classical architectural moldings: egg and dart with pearl edging arranged in an octagonal format around a central mirror plate. The crest is particularly exuberant, with asymmetrical rocaille and acanthus studded with flowering sprigs. Both the central plate and the eight surrounding border plates are original and fully beveled. Retains original wooden back. Good antique condition, with some scattered small restorations, light wear, patina. Bright gilding in good condition with some red clay bole showing through in places. Late 19th century.
