A remarkable set of antique Rococo carved walnut dining chairs, designed with bold curves and great details. Cabriole legs support curved aprons, each carved with a winged motif sweeping into shell carved knees. The backs are crested with rocaille elements. All have antique leather seats, all somewhat different in their embossed detail, some with worn gilded elements, one still with a great deal of fine gilding. The chairs all show signs of age and worming. All have some restorations to mitigate the old worming. All are sturdy and ready to use. The leather seats all show signs of wear: some are quite worn, but still very handsome and serviceable, with recent leather conditioner liberally applied.
