A striking and elegantly contoured sofa table resting on slender obelisk form pedestal legs supported by carved scroll feet on casters. Two functional drawers on one side and with false drawer fronts on the reverse. There are two narrow drop leaves to extend the top if needed. The entire table has superb quality rosewood veneers arrayed in an alternating light and dark timber pattern across the top. Oak secondary wood. Early 19th century. Could be used as a desk or as a traditional sofa table. Very good antique condition with typical light surface wear, and some small veneer restorations. Brass knobs likely later.
