A distinctive set of eight dining chairs painted in black (over a green undercoat) with gilded back boards and turnings. Very unusual understated and stylish Baroque design. All are sturdy. Comfortably cushioned and recently reupholstered in a deep red linen textured fabric. In very good condition with attractive light wear: both intentional (as made) and natural distress (due to use) to the paint and gilded surfaces. 20th century.
