Rare Set of Early Mason’s Ironstone Porcelain, Unusual Shapes, 6 Pieces
Dating circa 1813-1820, a rare multicolored pattern decorated with large peony and other spring flowers, along with unusual brown and gilt long leaves and twigs stylistically derived from the Chinese Export porcelain Tobacco Leaf Pattern. Four shell dishes along with two roughly rectangular dishes, all with gilt rims and raised gilded decoration. Two shell dishes with repairs, one of which is an old staple repair, others in good antique condition with light wear to the surfaces. Mason’s Ironstone marks: transfer printed crown with banner, washed green on five pieces the smallest dish with an additional impressed circular mark under a black and white crown mark.
