Pair of Chinese Export Bough Pots, Late 18th Century

Pair of Chinese Export Bough Pots, Late 18th Century

$0.00

A very fine pair of blue and gilt decorated bough pots, the painting of exquisite detail and amazingly fine scale of traditional Chinese patterns and painted vases spilling over with flowers. The body of the porcelain has a fine orange peel surface typical of the period. Bough pots were essentially vases for arrangements of tree branches. This pair would have originally had lids with holes punched through which would have held the branches. The handles have been restored.
