A set of seven Chinese blue on white glazed Nanking porcelain plates, early 20th century. These plates feature a diaper pattern rim and a dotted band that simulates a reticulated rim encircling the traditional estuary scene of islands and teahouses. Three with moderate to substantial roughness/shallow chipping around the edge, (see photo) others in nice condition with, however, a shallow rim flake each- all visually pleasing for display. Varying artisanal irregularities, grittiness to the foot of the undersides of the plates, as made. No marks.
