A beautiful antique Paris porcelain vase with an unusual seascape scene possibly inspired by the influential harbor paintings by Old Master painter Claude Lorrain. Elaborate scrolling arms are composed of acanthus foliage and terminate in lion heads. Elegant burnished designs encircle the painted scene. The back of the vase is all gilded. Ca. 1840’s. New linen shade. Mounted onto a brass and marble plinth when it was originally made into a lamp. Rewired. Typical rubbing wear to the gilding, patination, crazing, over all good antique condition.
