The identifying portions of the engravings which were trimmed to fit the frames are affixed to the backs, dated 1779, W. W. Ryland, London. The image of Heloise is after Angelica Kauffman’s original oil on canvas. The The 19th century London frame maker’s label is also fixed to the back.
