A large scale silk upholstered folding screen delicately painted with scenes of daily life. The sand colored background is enlivened by temples, houses, rivers and gardens in muted tones of green, blue and faded reds along with Chinese figures going about their lives, all depicted in exquisite detail and precision. The back is painted a pale greenish beige. Second half of the 20th century.
