A good pair of gilt wood prickets, with acanthus carved balusters rising upon the somewhat architectural scrolling tripodal plinths. Finished all the way around. Retaining most of their very nice original water gilding, with subtle ochre clay bole showing through in places, worming, surface distress/losses and stable cracking throughout, all in all in typical to better than average antique condition for items of this type. One with a slightly taller spike than the other. Late 18th century.
