A charming pair of cream glazed porcelain made by the potteries in Staffordshire in the late 19th century, ca. 1880. Each with hand painted faces and swirled gilt decoration over the lightly textured porcelain body giving the notion of glossy fur. Slim in format, these will fit easily on shelves or on a mantel. Good antique condition, with typical artisanal irregularities, craquelure to the glazes the and some wear to the gilding.
