A sizable and very handsome inlaid English walnut box with notable decorative details: Greek key pattern inlaid bands, brass plaques and a painted cartouche on the top. The interior is fitted with compartments and a lap desk. Second half of the 19th century. In unusually good condition, with some signs of age and wear, French polished surface.
