A very unusual pair of vivid chrome yellow cloisonné double gourd vases of an impressive size, with various colored dragons set amid cloud and wave motifs. Sky blue and gold are the dominant colors, but emerald green, lapis lazuli blue, garnet red, lilac and various shades in between are stunningly configured into the brass cloisonné fretwork. The complexity and fine craftsmanship are a wonder. Very good antique condition with light wear and various typical artisanal irregularities as made, with polished copper rims engraved with a Greek key pattern at the very top. Ca. early- mid 20th century.
