A large and unusual square baluster form teapot, boldly decorated in vivid hues of vitreous enamel on a turquoise ground. A visual feast, there are dragons and foliate elements filling the body beneath bands of Greek key and leaf lappets. The handle forms a fixed ribbonlike arch over the pot. No marks. Good condition, irregularities to the surfaces as made. Early to mid 20th century.
