A very well proportioned carved and gilded mirror, the body of the frame of figured walnut, with carved architectural carving in the pediment, drapery with tassel carvings at the sides, and low relief acanthus borders carved around the edges. The eagle perched on a sphere is executed with sophistication. Mid 18th century. Good antique condition, with typical signs of age and related small scattered restorations, original beveled mirror plate with scattered desilvering, original gilding with attractive wear.
