A stylish Neoclassical Italian mahogany pier table, dating to the early 19th century, with carved gilt wood lion’s head, acanthus and anthemion mounts that resemble gilt bronze elements. All four legs terminate in giltwood acanthus leaves and lion paw feet. The top is a black marble called “portor,” also known as Egyptian marble.
