A handsome antique patinated bronze vase adapted into a lamp. The body of the vase is ornamented with archaistic patterns and beautiful large applied bronze cartouches of leonine sea serpent creatures with extravagant frilly fins. Interesting elephant nosed salamanders finished in meticulous textures evoking scales and fins inch up the body of the vase to serve as handles. 19th century. Good antique condition, imperfections, irregularities to the surface as made. Rewired, new shade. Ebonized wood base. Vase is not drilled.
