An elegant set of square base tapered baluster form candlesticks of very good quality, retaining original bobèches, with deep Rococo ornament encrusting the repeated quatrefoil knops. Bases are weighted, all bearing a faint and indistinct mark on the base. Probably American Gorham silver: an identical set of four is known to exist, of quadruple silver plate, ca. 1900-early 20th century, having distinct Gorham marks. Excellent condition.
