A fine pair of polished brass andirons, with turned bodies resting on outswept spurred legs with hoof feet. Notable are the ball topped log stops behind the fronts, a nice detail often not present on similar andirons. The shod hoof feet are also an unusual detail. Ca. 1800. Very good antique condition, with signs of age, patina in the crevices, small dings and artisanal irregularities as made.
