A handsomely decorated Japanese Kutani porcelain vase adapted into a lamp, embellished with gilt details and scenes of herons and tree peonies. Characteristic vivid orange glazes and complex gilt details provide terrific contrast to the otherwise airy decoration. High quality brass lamp fittings with pull chains. Mid 20th century. Good antique condition, decoration is bright and strong in color, one tight hairline at the inside lip at the top, typical artisanal irregularities.
