A whimsical grinning yellow glazed ceramic Chinese foo dog, with big ears and a spiny back, resting on a plinth, and holding a paw over her puppy. The group is mounted on a substantial plinth block and adapted into a lamp. Probably mid 20th century. Glazes with many artisanal irregularities and craquelure, as made. New black "parchment" shade with great textured gold interior lining.
