A pair of early 19th century, ca. 1810 - 1820, English Imari dinner plates exquisitely decorated in a fresh palette of light green, orange and with the unusual added element of the light blue ground, all embellished with gilt decoration throughout the pattern. Ceramic ground is a lovely celadon tinted stoneware. Superb condition, very light surface wear. Both plates are marked: one with “Spode” handpainted along with the pattern # 1741, the other one of the pair with a printed maker’s mark and a painted pattern # also.
