English Begonia Leaf Majolica - Compote and Dish

suitable for use or display. The footed compote is slightly dished, perfect for serving sweets or hors d’oeuvres. The glazes include ochre, vivid green and mauve. The companion leaf dish is similarly colored, but with a more red wine toned glaze. Both with some wear to the glazes, especially the compote rim which show s a soft rubbing revealing some of the yellow earthenware, which blends in well with the ochre glazes. Typical artisanal and firing irregularities.
