An extravagantly matted pair of colored botanical lithographs from “Flores des Serres et des Jardins d’Europe, by the Belgian horticulturist Louis van Houtte (1810-1876).  Publication of this work was done in installments between 1845 and 1883. The plants depicted are Plate 518, an acacia (locust) and Plate 14, an unidentified flowering shrub.
